Gargi Roy being a school teacher was very passionate in singing from the age of 7. She got her training in classical and Rabindra sangeet under Sagiruddin Khan,  Runu Dutta. Presently she was taking lessons in Adhunik gaan , Nazrulgeeti from Shri Alok Roy Choudhury. She had won the Mirchi Music Special jury award for her Rabindrasangeet album ‘DUJONE’ where the legendary actor late Soumitra Chatterjee had recited poems in the album.  The singer Gargi Roy Performed in  several TV programmes in Ruposhi Bangla , Akash Aath, Dhoom Music etc. Recently the song ‘ NA JIYA LAGE NA’ was covered by her  for her you tube channel ‘ Gargi Roy’.
